The 1,000 Wall Ball Challenge

A part of any good training routine is trying to come up with fun and challenging ways to improve otherwise repetitive/mundane training. With that in mind, we (brothers Joel and Luke Hayes) set out to improve our Wall Balls, specifically for Hyrox, by setting a Doubles challenge of 1,000 Wall Balls for time.
The rules:
The Target Height had to be the standard men's height for Hyrox at 10ft.
The Wall Ball had to be the standard men's weight for Hyrox at 20lbs (9kg).
The Squat Depth on each repetition had to be at least to parallel.
With those standards in mind, our goal was to change who was throwing the ball every 15 reps. This lasted for a while, but as you'll see in the video below, Joel ended switching to sets of 10 reps while Luke maintained 15 the whole time; he saved their butts, but he is much better at Wall Balls, so it wasn't surprising.
Enjoy the video, give it a "Like" if you enjoy it, and Subscribe to our YouTube channel. If you think this was a cool challenge, try it for yourself! Try it as doubles or triples or whatever...or maybe even by yourself! See what time you get, and let us know. We'd love to hear about it. The training leading up to this challenge is what it was all about though. We'll be better at Wall Balls for our next Hyrox Doubles event because we trained for this challenge.
Train hard, train smart, and let us know if you have any questions:
